Does a Person Experience Emotional Healing Immediately upon Entering God's Presence, or Is it a Process?

Does a Person Experience Emotional Healing Immediately upon Entering God's Presence, or Is it a Process?

article - Randy Alcorn
I believe that as finite human beings who will live in space and time, we will go through a never-ending process of learning in Heaven, in that we will learn MORE as time goes on (Eph. 2:7). However, 1 Cor. 13:12 seems to suggest there will be immediate clarity of vision in God’s presence.
I Wonder About the Relationship of God's Sovereignty and Man's Free Will. Do You Think it Would Be an Accurate Analogy to View God as an Author, and All of Us as Characters in His Novel?

I Wonder About the Relationship of God's Sovereignty and Man's Free Will. Do You Think it Would Be an Accurate Analogy to View God as an Author, and All of Us as Characters in His Novel?

article - Randy Alcorn
I think it has some valid aspects to it, but I also think it breaks down. (Which doesn't mean it's a bad analogy, just a limited one. An analogy that is limited can still illustrate a valid point.)

Do You Think It Is Possible That on the New Earth There Could Be the Essence of Marital Relationships without the Actual Institution of Marriage?

article - Randy Alcorn
I still can’t get around Christ’s words in Matthew 22, which seem to clearly refute the Sadducee’s assumptions that if there were a resurrection, it would mean marital partnerships from earth would carry over to the resurrected life, and therefore people would have multiple spouses.
Do You Have Any Good Material You Can Give that Addresses the Subject of Purgatory?

Do You Have Any Good Material You Can Give that Addresses the Subject of Purgatory?

article - Randy Alcorn
I’ve been searching online for something to help you concerning purgatory, and I’m not happy with anything I’ve found. Some are brief, but too brief, don’t cite sufficient Scripture, and are just too shallow.
Do You Think it's Important to Study Bible History and Customs of the Land? What Books Would You Recommend?

Do You Think it's Important to Study Bible History and Customs of the Land? What Books Would You Recommend?

article - Randy Alcorn
When I used to teach hermeneutics and Bible study methods at Multnomah Bible College in Portland, OR, I always emphasized Bible history and culture a lot.

Do You Think Our Nation Is any Closer to Reversing Roe V. Wade?

article - Randy Alcorn
I think it’s possible, but there’s still much work to do.
Do You View Your Writing as a Ministry? Why or Why Not?

Do You View Your Writing as a Ministry? Why or Why Not?

article - Randy Alcorn
My writing is a ministry, because ministry is service, and every aspect of our lives is to be a service that glorifies our Lord.
What Fiction Books Do You Recommend for the Unsaved?

What Fiction Books Do You Recommend for the Unsaved?

article - Randy Alcorn
I would recommend James Scott Bell (courtroom stuff—think John Grisham) and Al Gansky (high-tech adventure—think Tom Clancy).
Do Muslims Believe in Christ, and Will They Be Saved as a Result?

Do Muslims Believe in Christ, and Will They Be Saved as a Result?

article - Paul Martin
The issue seems to be what Muslims believe about Jesus Christ. My question would be: "What does your sister-in-law not believe about Jesus that keeps her from becoming a Christian?

Do Infants Go to Heaven When They Die?

article - Randy Alcorn
The teaching of the evangelical community has been 99.9% on the side of infant salvation. That's certainly where my heart is, and after reflecting on Scripture, if I had to put money on it, I'd put it on infants going to heaven when they die. But the difficulties involved are considerable.

Prolife Video: For Women Who Are Considering an Abortion

video - Randy Alcorn Randy's blog
This prolife video, "For Women Who Are Considering an Abortion," is very powerful. The woman is excellent, composed and yet vulnerable, and the human dimension is very strong. Her words about those who have had abortions, after being victims of rape and incest, are right on. Wow.

Do People Now in Heaven Pray for Those on Earth?

article - Randy Alcorn
Based on scriptural evidence, I believe the answer is "yes."

Do People Now in Heaven Remember What Happened on Earth?

article - Randy Alcorn
In Heaven, we will recall some—likely most or all—of our lives on earth.  This is among the most controversial beliefs I’ve presented in my books, yet there’s clear scriptural evidence for it.
Do We Have to Wait to Be with Christ until the New Earth?

Do We Have to Wait to Be with Christ until the New Earth?

article - Randy Alcorn
When we die we go to be with Christ (II Cor. 5:8) which is wonderful. But we are still incomplete, in a pre-resurrected state, anticipating Christ's return to earth, and our resurrections. The place we'll live forever will be where God comes down to dwell with us, on the New Earth (Revelation 21:1-3).

Do We Have the Right to Choose What We Do with Our Bodies?

article - Randy Alcorn
Prochoice advocates argue, “Every woman has the right to choose what she does with her own body.” Ironically, the choice of abortion assures that 650,000 females each year don’t have the right to choose what they do with their bodies. (That number is half of aborted children, the other half being males.) A female killed by abortion no longer has a life, a choice, or a body to exercise control over.
