Usually I like best the kind of book I’m currently working on.

As a man, husband, and more recently a father—I have struggled and struggled with sexual temptation. At my breaking point-being “tired” of the ongoing struggle and to seek support—I submitted a prayer request at a recent church leadership retreat, asking the intercessors to pray “That I would always and forever remain faithful to my wife and, never, ever commit adultery.”

The first two and last two chapters of the Bible are perfectly symmetrical bookends, revealing and culminating God’s eternal plan for mankind and for the earth.

Unlike God and the angels, who are in essence spirits (John 4:24; Hebrews 1:14), human beings are by nature both spiritual and physical (Genesis 2:7).

Books more than anything.

Truth without grace is unbending, like the law of gravity. Gravity doesn’t take into consideration the fact that the individual in the car is young, kind, tired or didn’t mean to get too close to the edge of the cliff. When the car plunges off the precipice, gravity shows no sympathy. Truth tells us we’re sick. Only grace can cure us.

Certainly, the glorified Christ will be by far the most glorious being in Heaven. Yet, as we will see, Scripture indicates that we too, in a secondary and derivative way, will reflect God’s glory in physical brightness.

Rest from our labors on earth (Rev. 14:13). We will experience relaxation and leisure, freedom from the frustrations of tedious and burdensome labor.

Diane’s conversion took my breath away. Only Elyon’s Spirit can pierce the hard shell of their hearts. When she accepted His gift and asked His forgiveness, Elshar and I embraced.

They drove wordlessly to the retirement center to see Diane’s mother. Diane had asked Jordan to come. He said yes, hating that he hadn’t seen his mother-in-law for nearly a year, and hating that he didn’t want to see her now.

A close friend of mine, Greg, died when I was in high school. I was a brand new Christian and it affected me profoundly. Then after I’d been a pastor five years, my mother died in 1981.

Yes, the place called heaven—our home—will be wildly wonderful.

Person after person stood to read, with periods of rest between, allowing all to contemplate the message and experience the communion elicited in the writing.
